Fruit for this wine is always the best parcel from the vintage. Very often showcasing a portion of the blend from the Riverside Block as well as the best parcels from The Farms Vineyard. The combination of location and shallow, hungry red-brown earth soils of clay, loam and rock, are rich in nutrients and make the vines work hard. This produces fruit that is intensely concentrated and rich in flavour and colour due to yields of only six tonnes per hectare. It is this unique blend of elevation, soils and winemaking that results in a big, bold traditional Barossa Valley Shiraz, but with an elegance that comes from the cooler vineyard site and old vines.
