The spice carries through to the palate, backed by intensely powerful tannins and integrated oak characters.The Barossa Valley Wine Company was established in the hamlet of Lyndoch in 2001. “Stockyard” celebrates the 100+ year old stone ruin on our historic Farms vineyard. Originally an outbuilding for livestock, today it occupies a much more serene position overlooking rows of low-yielding Shiraz.Sourced from premium parcels on the vineyard, very often any barrels which don’t quite make the quality level of “Farms” are blended into “Stockyard”, hence its nickname, ‘Baby Farms’! Its slightly elevated vineyard location and red loam and rock soils (lithosols, Terra Rossa and Terra Fusca) combine to create a delicious, full-bodied Shiraz.
