The farm is situated against the Bottelary Hills outside Stellenbosch and the altitude of the vineyards varies between 170 and 370 meters above sea level.The vineyardsThe grapes came from vineyards planted at 185 to 210 meters above sea level in decomposed granite soil. The trellised vines were planted from 1990 to 1991The winemakingThe grapes were harvested at the end of March, beginning of April 2009 from selected blocks of vineyards. The mash was fermented to ±6° Balling with selected yeast cultures, pressed and further fermented to total dryness in stainless steel tanks. Selected wood was used for the development of the young wine, and the wine remained in contact with the wood for 9 months. Winemakers commentsFull flavours of Red and Black-berries.
