The latter was founded back in \u0026lt;em\u0026gt;1870\u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt; when France wanted to diversify sugar production (translation: they wanted more of that lovely Rhum juice). Savanna makes a complete range of Rums: light, traditional, agricoles, and Rums of various ages.\u0026lt;\/p\u0026gt;\u0026lt;p\u0026gt;This particular expression is a \u0026lt;em\u0026gt;beast of \u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt;\u0026lt;em\u0026gt;feast\u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt;. It’s a traditional \u0026lt;em\u0026gt;Rhum\u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt; (molasses-based) and it spent seven long years in oak. It was bottled at cask strength (or as the French call it – Brut de Fut), while the entire production took place at the \u0026lt;em\u0026gt;Savanna distillery\u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt;.
