In 1989, \u0026lt;em\u0026gt;Pius Regli \u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt;and \u0026lt;em\u0026gt;Jörg Hinck \u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt;came up with a very erm, interesting idea to found a \u0026lt;em\u0026gt;Ski Club\u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt; on Sylt, an island with no mountains and not a whole lot of snow. Since the skiing part has been rather limited on Sylt, this small drinking club focused more on\u0026lt;em\u0026gt; quality Spirit production\u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt; and quite successfully so. No wonder, since their distillery, located in Germany, dates back to \u0026lt;em\u0026gt;1864 \u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt;and its owners were granted the license to distill in the\u0026lt;em\u0026gt; 15th century.\u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt;\u0026lt;\/p\u0026gt;\u0026lt;p\u0026gt;Like all their premium Spirits, North Sea Gin is based on \u0026lt;em\u0026gt;Skiclub Kampen North Sea Vodka. \u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt;Made from wheat, which is sown, grown and harvested on their 24 hectare farm, it is then \u0026lt;em\u0026gt;distilled five times \u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt;in copper stills. As a final step, a unique silverdust filter is used to eliminate acidic components and fusel oils, which explains the \u0026lt;em\u0026gt;exceptionally mild taste\u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt; of this Gin. After adding high-quality botanicals, including juniper berries, coriander, lavender, marjoram and lemon balm, we are left with a super delicate, aromatic Gin. So good, in fact, it received a \u0026lt;em\u0026gt;Gold Medal\u0026lt;\/em\u0026gt; in 2019 at the prestigious International Spirits Challenge.
