Made from imported molasses (sugar cane does not grow in the Netherlands), it underwent a long fermentation with multiple yeast strains and was distilled twice in stills before being filled into Pedro Ximénez barrels, where it rested for four years. There’s a lot going on with the rather dramatic label, but it’s nice to see that Patrick van Zuidam has kept his clothes from the Millstone That Boutique-y Whiskey Company labels… \u0026lt;\/p\u0026gt;\u0026lt;\/p\u0026gt;\u0026lt;p\u0026gt; Nose: Cinnamon, cardamom and peppermint, with layers of brown sugar and spicy rhubarb. Palate: Still has plenty of spicy cooking character, although tropical fruit notes now come to the fore.
