Since then, in 1996 it was bought by Chanel, who also owns Château Rauzan-Ségla in Margaux.Château Canon is situated centre of the St.Emilion appellation. The vineyard is planted with 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Franc. Vinification takes place in the traditional method: up to 20 days in temperature-controlled wooden vats followed by 18 months’ maturation in oak barrels (70% new).The nose displays aromas of black cherries and ripe fruit. Followed by initial nuances of violet and chocolate on the palate leading to notes of fresh figs and spices, slightly peppery, complete the aromatic palette, all in length and creaminess. The fine, silky tannins provide a texture on the palate that is both creamy and long.
