<p>From the northern sector of Nuits, bordering Vosne, Les Chaignots sits on thin, limestone-rich marls that give a more floral, lifted expression of the appellation. The 2018 was hand-harvested and mostly destemmed, then fermented with native yeasts in tank using gentle pump overs and light punch-downs to keep tannins fine, before ~18 months’ élevage in barrels with a restrained touch of new oak. It is ripe yet poised—red and black cherry, violet, and subtle spice over a cool, stony line—with sleek, powdery tannins and a long, savory finish.</p>
