<p>100% Malvasia. From 20-year-old vines of a smaller-berried sub-variety of Malvasia, grown organically on schistous, iron-rich soils at 520 meters in the hilly Castrovillari district in northern Calabria. The bunches are hand-harvested, destemmed and fermented spontaneously in steel tank with native yeasts and without sulfur or temperature control. The wine is aged in tank with no lees-stirring and with several rackings. It is bottled without filtration or any addition of sulfur. “Giramondo” is Italian for “globetrotter”, a reference to Malvasia’s ancient origins in Greece and its spread to Italy and around the world over the last two millenia.</p>
