<p>VINEYARD: Geoge Vare planted his home vineyard at the foot of Mt. Veeder in the western Napa Valley to Ribolla Gialla and Cabernet Sauvignon. The long, cool growing season at this site is moderated by its proximity to the adjacent Redwood forested slopes of Mt. Veeder and its well drained gravelly soils. These factors lead to slow flavor development, great acid balance and moderate sugar in the resulting grapes.SOILSandy loam soils</p><p>VITICULTURE: Vertical trellis, bilatéral cordon, 3×6 spacing. Approx 2 tons per acre</p><p>VINIFICATION: Whole cluster presssed and fermented with native yeasts for primary and malolactic in stainless steel</p><p>AGING: aged for 10 months in neutral, Franch oak barrels</p><p>NOTES: 19 year old vines planted with cuttings from Gravner in Friuli. Grown in gravelly loam at the base of the eastern flank of Mount Veeder in the Napa Valley. Fermented with native yeast in stainless steel after six hours of pre-press skin contact and aged in neutral French oak for 10 months. 5 barrels produced.</p>
