<p>Criolla Chica is the local name for País (aka Mission or Listán Prieto), a heritage variety brought over by Spanish conquistadors. This bottle represents the core of Matías’ mission: working with very old ungrafted vines, capturing Argentina’s traditional places. As he shared, the country has over 3K hectares of 80+ year old vines – an incredible wealth of vinous raw material that often goes unnoticed in favor of homogenous global styles.</p><p>In Mendoza’s Grand Cru area Los Chacayes, this parcel was planted in the 1950s with traditional pergola training, at an incredible 1,100m altitude. The result is a quenching, spicy, nuanced wine that captures the mineral richness of the Andean foothills.</p>
