<p>Stronachie 10 YO is a labor of love across time and space — divined by science and crafted with skill. </p><p><em>A. D. Rattray</em> has been an independent bottler of Whisky since <em>1868</em>. Since those early times they have distributed dozens of classic malt Whisky brands and created a few of their own, sourced from the <em>smaller boutique distilleries</em> of Scotland. They are not only an independent distributor and bottler, they are also <em>historians</em> and keepers of the Whisky faith via their “Whisky Experience” facility in South Ayrshire. These days their house brands include the <em>uniquely re-born </em>and <em>revitalized</em> Stronachie, Cask Islay, Bank Note, and their famous <em>Cask Collection </em>series of specially sourced individual barrels of Scotland’s most famous single-malts.</p><p>Stonachie WAS a remote, Highland Single Malt distillery built in 1890 by <em>Alexander McDonald</em>. When hard times fell upon the industry due to prohibition and higher coal and barley costs, the facility was <em>dismantled</em> and <em>lost</em> to history in 1930. Back in the day, <em>Dewer Rattray</em> distributed their single-malt all over the UK. In 2002 the descendants of Rattray discovered a sealed bottle of original Stronachie from 1904 at a Whisky auction. They bought the bottle, sampled the spirit, and scientifically deduced the <em>delicate combination</em> of aromatic esters unique to each Single Malt. Then they found a Highland distillery who could faithfully reproduce the <em>ancient dram</em> — the noble <em>Benrinnes Distillery</em>. This is the 10 YO product of that <em>labor of love</em> spanning across time and space.</p>
