<p>Aberfeldy is the pride of Perth, and this Sherry-finished sixteen year-old is something to be proud of.</p><p>Aberfeldy is a <em>smaller production house</em> in the Highlands along the River Tay. It was actually founded by <em>John Dewer</em> himself in <em>1896</em>. And even though Dewers is a large producer and a subsidiary of <em>Bacardi</em>, Little Aberfeldy occupies a<em> special spot in their history</em>. In fact, of all the locations possible, Dewers <em>has located their museum</em> and their “World of Whisky” attraction there.</p><p>They keep things simple at Aberfeldy. All of their grain is <em>locally grown</em> and they use only <em>native Scottish yeasts</em>. The water flows from a stream passing by the distillery — Pitilie Burn. All of their Whisky is aged in <em>ex-Bourbon casks on site</em>. Don’t you just love it when a division of a large company like Dewers and Bacardi keep one foot firmly planted in the past like this?</p><p><em>Aberfeldy 16 Year Old </em>was released as a part of the acclaimed “Last Great Malts” series in <em>2015</em>. It is classic Aberfeldy Single Malt aged sixteen years in ex-Bourbon casks and finished in Oloroso Sherry casks. This is a straight, <em>time-tested combination</em> that has produced some of the best Single Malt Whiskies. It is a <em>fruit-forward, juicy dram </em>bottled at <em>40%</em> ABV.</p>
