The Amarone della Valpolicella 1997 by Giuseppe Quintarelli is an elegant red wine from the Veneto in northern Italy.

Its color is a deep garnet red with orange highlights, indicating prolonged aging. The nose is highly complex, with aromas of dried fruits such as raisins, prunes, and figs, as well as notes of spices such as cinnamon, cloves, and pepper. Subtle notes of roasted coffee beans and tobacco can be detected in the background.

On the palate, the 1997 Amarone della Valpolicella displays impressive structure with a perfect balance between ripe tannins and refreshing acidity. Aromas of dried fruit and spices continue in the mouth, accompanied by a slightly bitter note of dark chocolate. The finish is long and persistent, with notes of dried fruit, spices, and light earthy tones that linger long in the mouth.

This wine was made from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes, carefully selected and dried in special drying rooms to achieve a higher concentration of aromas and sugars. The wine was then aged for seven years in oak barrels to further enhance its structure and complexity.

Giuseppe Quintarelli’s 1997 Amarone della Valpolicella is an outstanding wine that pairs perfectly with hearty meat dishes such as beef, game, or lamb. It also makes an excellent choice with mature cheeses. This wine is a wonderful example of the quality and finesse that characterize Amarone wines from the Veneto region.
