<p>A high-altitude wine, from an exposed and ventilated slope, which gives Pinot Noir an airy expression. The nose combines fresh red fruits, rose peel and a touch of peony. On the palate, the grain is fine, almost silky, carried by a remarkable limestone tension. The balance between contained power and floral finesse makes this a wine for contemplation and aging.</p><p>Hand-harvested in Alsace and naturally vinified in Jura with semi-carbonic maceration at cool temperatures, before ageing in well-seasoned casks. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with no added sulphites. </p><p>Jean-François Ganevat – known as Fanfan – is making wine with the inspired magic of an alchemist. He comes from a long line of winegrowers, dating as far back as 1650. He took over the family estate in 1998. With only eight and a half hectares under vine, the family has seventeen different local varieties planted of both red and white grapes – an incredible amount of variation to consider for holdings of such small size. Jean-François creates a stunning number of cuvées, ranging between thirty-five and forty every year!
