<p> ARTIST COLLECTIVE LINKWOOD 1997 21 YO Batch 2 (70CL, 58.0 % Vol.) </p><p> Produced in 1997 at the Linkwood distillery, this Speyside single malt spent more than two decades in a refill sherry cask, before being bottled by La Maison du Whiskey for its Artist Collective series. The bottle contains a piece titled “Sans Titre 16.08.14” by artist Thierry Zdzieblo.</p><p><p> Nose: Gentle start, herbal and very malty, light citrus notes and also rather slightly fruity, a little orange, grapes, pears, alcohol have a slightly refreshing effect. </p><p> Freshly cut wood, something like pine, is mixed in with it. It turns into a slightly honeyed sweetness with a little more fruit from exotic mangoes, figs, raisins and plums. In the background, a little more clearly a vanilla pudding. But again and again this extreme maltiness predominates. </p></p><p> Palate: Peppery start, slightly spicy. Dark chocolate with light tobacco notes stands out with fruity notes of mango, banana, plum and pear. Caramelized vanilla, a little honey and a good portion of oak seasoning are added. The alcohol is well integrated and initially only presses briefly on the tube.</p><p><p> Finish: Medium long finish, slightly sweet like exotic fruits, spicy, coffee notes make it appear a little bitter. </p></p>
