Not unlike the brand’s namesake <em>Sir Joseph Banks</em>, the botanist who joined the great explorer <em>James Cook</em> on his first great voyage in the 18th century. Banks blended Rums are a <em>labor of love and a tribute</em> <em>to the Spirit of discovery. </em></p><p><em>The 5 Island Blend</em> takes the example of <em>1920s </em>classic Rum then just goes bonkers with blending. Here are the numbers: 21 Rums from<em> </em>6 distilleries, hailing from 5 different islands. Each liquid plays a vital part in <em>Master Blender Arnaud de Trabuc’s </em>recipe that’s been created with additional input from New York mixologist <em>Jim Meehan</em>. <em>Trinidad</em> is at its core, <em>Jamaican pot-still Rums </em>are there for aroma, <em>Guyana</em> brings earthy and fruity notes, <em>Barbados</em> adds some citrus, and <em>Java</em> sprinkles some beautiful spice over the lot. The Spirits have been aged between 3 and 12 years, then filtered to remove the color. </p>
