Full-bodied in the mouth, fresh acidity, pleasant both in the early years and with ageing.Grape variety:Barbera – Barbera D’Alba DOC.Production area:Located in Barbaresco, which has always been considered one of the best areas for the production of Nebbiolo da Barbaresco, it covers a total of 13 hectares, 8 of which are vineyards.The name Roncaglie derives from the Latin “Roncaleis” (former Roman settlement, meaning “road uphill”). The vineyard is planted with Nebbiolo da Barbaresco (cru Roncaglie) and Barbera, with a small vineyard of Rhine Riesling. Altitude between 240 and 280 m a.s.l., predominantly south and south-west exposure.Vinification:Hand harvest, destemming, crushing, maceration with the skins for 10 – 12 days at a maximum temperature of 28° – 30°C, complete malolactic fermentation before winter.
