<p>A fabulously unique, smoky Gin with a flavor profile like premium Mezcal. </p><p><em>Occitan </em>is a region of southwestern France stretches from the Spanish border, across Provence, to the French Alps where they meet Italy. It is <em>one of the most fruitful </em>agricultural regions in Europe growing a wide variety of natural botanicals. Bordiga has been small-batch distilling Spirits in the foothills of those mountains in Italy since <em>1888 </em>— specializing in botanical-infused Spirits like Gin and Liqueurs along with Vermouth, Tintura, and many other Amari products.</p><p>In a way, <em>Bordiga Gin Premium Smoke</em> was discovered by accident. A delivery of juniper berries was set next to a coal fire. When the Gin from that batch was tasted, the distiller master was greeted with a <em>pleasant surprise</em> — it was completely different, but also <em>completely tasty.</em> The botanical mix was tweaked to compliment the smoke flavor, including angelica, cardamom, coriander, licorice, and three more “secret” ingredients which are smoked prior to infusion. The base Spirit is distilled four times from local grains. The results is REALLY <em>interesting</em> with a flavor profile that reminds you of a premium Mezcal.</p><p><u>Smartass corner:</u><em>Occitan has a long history and unique culture.
