Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 10 Year Old 50% ABV, Single Malt Whisky, Islay, Scotland, 70clProducer Tasting Note:Port Charlotte 10 year old is conceived, distilled, matured and bottled only on Islay. Made from 100% Scottish barley, it is trickle distilled through tall, narrow-necked stills for a balanced, heathery style of barbeque smoke.COLOUR: Primrose to Citrine. NOSE: The smoke is calmed by the marine, ozone character. While the smoke is always discernible on the nose it is dry and earthy in its style, allowing the oak to come forward with waves of golden caramel, fudge, vanilla custard, hints of ginger, nutmeg and clove. There is citrus fruit, coaxed from the glass with a drop of water, gentle lemon meringue and clementine. Breathe deeply and the floral aromas of wild thyme, heather and sea pink transport you to the Atlantic coast. PALATE: On the palate there is a noticeable delicacy and softness in texture and style. Again, the balance of flavour is superb as the smoke wraps loosely around the sweetness drawn from deep within the oak. Coconut, vanilla custard and lemon honey combines with smoked oysters and sun baked salty sand. FINISH: The finish is sublime. Smoky, sure, but with the soft sweetness of fudge and malted barley. Orange, mango and Banoffee pie signal the depth and quality of the oak. This is the first permanent, age-statement Port Charlotte bottling. Aged for ten years, on the shores of Loch Indaal, in a combination of 65% first fill American whiskey casks, 10% second fill American whiskey casks and 25% second fill French wine casks. No added colours. Non chill filtered. Heavily peated malt. Bottled (at 50% ABV) using only Islay spring water.Critic’s Tasting Note:”Gentle smoke, slightly maritime and sweet nuances, some citrus as well as caramel, vanilla, ginger, nutmeg and allspice on the nose. Balanced and powerful on the palate, a fine sweetness counteracts the vivid smoke, vanilla, savouriness and a certain freshness in the mid-palate. Dry, smoky and slightly salty on the finish.”95/100 points, FALSTAFF (Austria), October 2025Also awarded GOLD, L.A. Spirits Awards (2025),GOLD, New York International Spirits Competition (2025). and DOUBLE GOLD, San Francisco World Spirits Competition (2025)Bruichladdich Port Charlotte Scottish Barley Heavily Peated 50% ABV, Single Malt Whisky, Islay, Scotland, 70cl
