<p>Scotch Whisky? No, Scotch Gin!</p><p>This Gin is produced by<em> Balmenach distillery</em>, which is one of the first distilleries in the Speyside region of Scottish Highlands. It was<em> founded in 1824</em>, and is one of the first distilleries in Scotland to be licensed for the production of Scotch Whisky. The distillery lies in the heart of the <em>Cairngorm National</em> Park, at the foot of the Haughs of Cromdale. Balmenach harnesses<em> age-old Celtic</em> <em>botanicals</em> that grow in the surrounding hills, which form the base Caorunn’s recipe is built upon.</p><p><em>Caorunn Gin</em> (Caorunn, pronounced ‘ka-roon’, is the Gaelic word for Rowan Berry that has inspired Celtic medicines and recipes for generations) is made from grain, which is triple distilled, before it is infused with the following botanicals:<em>– Traditional</em>Juniper, coriander, lemon peel, orange peel, angelica root, cassia bark.<em>– Scottish botanicals </em>Rowan berry, heather, dandelion and coul blush apple.</p><p><em>Signature Cocktail – Caorunn Apple Smash</em>50ml Caorunn Gin, 200ml Tonic Water, 1/4 Red Apple, 1/4 Green Apple, 2 ClovesMuddle an apple in the base of a cocktail shaker, then add the rest of the ingredients, except for tonic water and shake with ice. Strain over ice and top off with tonic water. </p>
