<p>Caroni Trinidad Rum Felicite Gold Bristol Classic Rum (70CL, 40.0% Vol.)</p><p>On the nose, we think we find our typical Caroni profile. And of course we find it again, but pleasantly melted in a soft and fat woodiness. The rum then diffuses into notes of butter, brioche and vanilla. The sweetness suits Caroni well, and a nice balance is established. Aeration confirms and maintains this balance. We are dealing with a sweet and greedy Caroni, for once. The tarry notes are very soft, highlighting the sweeter aromas, like vanilla, in a very beautiful way.</p><p>The palate is very sweet and honeyed, and there is no hint of tar or engine oil aromas at first. Instead, it is a bold American oak that unfolds its notes of vanilla, coconut, tobacco and sweet caramel. There is also a nice hazelnut paste, which takes on a nice texture on the palate.</p><p>The ending arrives without any real shout-out to Caroni, although some oily reminiscences hover over our greedy oak. </p>
