<p>ORGANIC / SUSTAINABLE</p><p>A delightful organic red from Sicily, that might appeal to fans of Nebbiolo with aromas of dark fruits, dried red fruits, and some peppery spice. Despite its pale appearance, you’re greeted with a nice weight and well-judged tannins in the mouth, creating a slightly smoky impression that is evocative of its volcanic terroir. Made from the Sicilian Nerello Mascalese and Nocera grapes, and grown at almost 1000 metres of elevation, this wine is both tense and elegant, with a great concentration of flavour. </p><p>This wine comes from Centopassi, a winemaking cooperative that was founded in 2002 by the Libera Terra movement. Libera Terra is an Italian non-profit that works to combat the Mafia by reclaiming land and businesses that have been seized from the Mafia and turning them into productive, law-abiding enterprises. Centopassi produces high-quality wines, provides jobs and training, and promotes sustainable agriculture. Centopassi is a shining example of how the Libera Terra movement is working to build a better future for Sicily.
