The village and vineyards nestle against the red porphyry rock of Monte Tschöggl on the orographically left side of the valley. In the heart of this South Tyrolean wine region the Terlano winery was established in 1893. Today the co-operative has over 200 members and a total area of 240 hectares. 70% of the vineyard acreage is planted with white grapes.
