:Color: brilliant attractive straw yellow. Nose: The aroma is built of exotic fruit components such as maracuja, star fruit and citrus, with the overall impression in the nose rounded off by spicy minerally notes of flint. Taste: This Chardonnay is harmonious on the palate, where the soft and creamy elements combine with a hint of fruit to create a pleasing whole with a counterpoint of minerality and a salty finish.Grape variety:Chardonnay – Terlano Alto Adige DOCProduction area:Terlano is a wine-growing village located halfway between Alto Adige’s main towns of Merano and Bolzano where the Adige flows through a wide valley in a south-easterly direction. The village and vineyards nestle against the red porphyry rock of Monte Tschöggl on the orographically left side of the valley. Sandy-stony, well-drained soils.Vinification:Manual harvest and selection of the grapes; gentle whole cluster pressing and clarification of the must by natural sedimentation; slow fermentation at a controlled temperature in big oak barrels (30 hl); malolactic fermentation and aging on the lees in traditional wooden barrels for 8 months.Food pairing:An excellent companion to vitello tonnato and marinated octopus as well as to mixed antipasti and grilled vegetables; a good combination with cheese dumplings and pasta aglio olio peperoncino (with garlic, olive oil and peperoncino), and also with grilled fish with fennel, or crepes au gratin with a radicchio filling, and fresh Tomino cheese.Serving temperature:12 – 14°C.Ageing potential:more than 8 years.Bottle to:750 ml – 75 cl – 0,75 lt.Allergens:Wine can contain sulphites.Producer:Terlano WineryTerlano’s tradition as a wine terroir dates back over 2000 years. That vines thrive so well in the lee of Monzoccolo is due to the mild, almost Mediterranean climate with hot sunny days and cool nights during the ripening time. The striking red, easily warmed porphyry soil of Terlano also contributes to the high quality of the grapes. In the heart of this South Tyrolean wine region the Terlano winery was established in 1893. Today the co-operative has over 200 members and a total area of 240 hectares. 70% of the vineyard acreage is planted with white grapes. In modern cellars the fruits of this careful, natural cultivation are turned into wine with that perfect touch and the necessary controls.Because of the mineral content of the wines the region of Terlano is also frequently likened to French vine growing areas. The Terlano wine characteristics, the precise fruit, and the fine yet strong aroma lead experts to compare the wine with mature vintage Champagnes.Cantina TerlanoVia Silberleiten 7IT – 39018 Terlano (BZ)officeChardonnay Kreuth – 2021 13,5% vol. – Terlano Winery | Karadarshop.com
