<p>Chateau Soussans, Vignobles Jean Sorge, Margaux, Bordeaux, France, 2022Grapes: A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon & 50% Merlot, 20ha property (3ha vineyard is used for Soussans label) on gravel soil, 30 year old vines, hand harvested, matured in French oak barrels for 12-15 monthsIn the winery the style is a combination of traditional methods with modern equipment to ensure a pure, harmonious wine that is classic Margaux but with fine, gentle tannins that allow early drinking. Chateau Soussans is an equal blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, producing an attractive perfume of blackberry and plum and hints of exotic spices. Soft and silky on the palate, there are fine, melting tannins and a savoury complexity behind the red berry fruit flavours. The finish is clean and sustained with spicy notes coming through. This is an elegant Margaux to enjoy now and over the next 6 to 8 years.Château Soussans, in the heart of Bordeaux’s famous Margaux appellation, is the second wine of the renowned Château Deyrem Valentin. Like its sibling, it is managed by Jean Sorge whose family have owned the estates since the 18th century.
