A floral note. Pears and lemons. After some time, floral honey, followed by bananas. And then also a light glue note.PALATE:Rather creamy. Pears, vanilla, toffee, kiwi fruit and honey. Then green bananas. Later, spicy notes of pink peppercorns, ginger and cinnamon. FINISH: Mid-long to long. Vanilla and bananas. More spices, especially pink peppercorns.A cult-favourite world blend from the king of independent Japanese distillers, Ichiro Akuto. In addition to whisky from his own Chichibu distillery, it also includes whiskies from America, Canada, Scotland and Ireland. This standard “white label” bottle is one produced around 2017.Critic’s Tasting Note:”Delicate aromas of chamomile, marigolds, gardenias, peaches, apples, and vanilla undergirded by biscuity cereal notes transition seamlessly to an elegant palate of vanilla, green apples, malted milk balls, and fresh herbs. The finish has gentle spice that fades into warm chocolate with continuing creamy grain.
