<p>Chichibu Hanyu Ichiro’s Malt Single Cask #5036 (Sweden And Norway), Japan, 70cl185 bottles produced in 2011 from an individual cask. Aged in a single ex-Pinot Noir wine barrel. An exclusive 7 year old whisky for the Swedish & Norwegian markets released in 2018.Critic’s Tasting Note:”NOSE: Deeply vinous, nuts, leather, cooked vegetables and a chemical note, boat varnish, lacquer and maybe a little menthol at the end. A bit strange smell, interesting but not really cohesive.TASTE: Really dry with massive wine tones, spiciness from the oak, tannic acid. Red currants and tart raspberries. Tightens the palate properly. Flattens out in a spicy, heavy aftertaste that fades off on a slightly strange fruit note, tight oakiness and a slightly bitter and almond-filled finish. Lying around for a long time, but not sure if you long for more. Slightly odd taste, extremely dry, spicy and tight but still with a nice berry of red berries.”WHISKYARCHIVET, Sweden, 2019This is part of a private customer’s collection.
