<p>Chichibu Hanyu Ichiro’s Malt The Floor Malted Bottled 2015, Single Malt Whisky, Japan, [75cl]COLOUR:Yellow gold. NOSE:Malt, pineapple, apple, earthy funk, chocolate. PALATE:Light arrival. Malt, apple, black pepper, somr orange peel, some earthiness. The proof is noticeable. FINISH:Medium. Malt, chocolate, custard, orange peel, some burn.Bottled at cask strength (58.5% ABV) in 2015 exclusively for the US Market.The ‘Floor Malted’ is a single malt made with Floor Malted Barley, a practice of malting steeped barley on the floor of the malt house. An ancient practice, since replaced by industrial processes, it’s still in use with some artisanal brewers and distillers today, and Akuto-san picked it up himself on a trip to the UK. His instructions and specifications determined the single malt in this 2015 bottling.Critic’s Tasting Note:”Candied ginger, soft heather and hay. Rounded sweet spices, rich, pure coconut cream, hightoned jasmin, fresh cream, clean and linear finish.Watering opens grass, hay, clean aromatics. Oily, creamy, clean. More water shows water, sea salt, sweet spicy florals, milk chocolate, edgy oak and spruce.Clean but powerful, complex and classy.
