It takes a lot of whisky stones to step out of a dream job with Whisky perks and start a business like this. John buys bulk output from some of <em>the best distilleries in Scotland</em> and then creates custom blends which he finishes and ages to create<em> unique Whisky expressions. </em></p><p><em>Some Scotch Whisky blends</em> have dozens of Whiskies in the mix. The argument is that this diversity of spirit ingredients brings consistency and complexity to the final product. Compass Box has delivered <em>a counter-argument </em>in the form of Compass Box The Double Single. This Scotch blend is <em>a combination of two Whiskies</em> — it’s 72% 19 year-old Glen Elgin Single malt and 28% Single Grain from Girvan bottled at a perfect 46% ABV. It seems that if you pick two of the best Whiskies you get plenty of complexity and tasty goodness… and recognition by The Whisky Bible as the <em>2018 Scotch Blend of the Year</em> to boot.</p>
