<p>Cos D’Estournel,2eme Grand Cru Classe, Saint Estephe, Bordeaux, 2010Grapes: 78% Cab Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 2% Cab Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, 91ha vineyard on gravel/clay/limestone soil, aged 18 months in new French oak barrelsThe palate is full-bodied with quite assertive dry tannins on the entry rendering this a slightly more masculine Cos that is quintessential Saint Estephe but nods southwards towards Pauillac. Touches of graphite and cedar interlace the pure blackberry and briary fruit with great tension towards the finish. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a rock-solid foundation of very firm, grainy tannins and very lively acidity supporting the remarkable intensity of tightly wound fruit layers, finishing very long and fragrant.
