<p>Cognac worthy of its cigar.</p><p>Dobbe distillery is located in the heart of the Cognac region, in <em>Salignac-sur-Charente</em> to be precise. It was established around 1787, when the family’s ancestors acquired a few acres of vines. Their passion for wine grew with time, and so did <em>their Cognac producing skills</em>. The distillery is still a <em>family-owned</em> operation and the tradition has been kept intact all these years – <em>7 generations in fact.</em></p><p>Their estate extends mainly over the <em>Petite Champagne</em> area, known for <em>chalky soil</em>, which is much more compact than the one from the Grande area, resulting in Cognac that is not too floral and <em>slightly less subtle</em>. Funny how this area is called Petite, when in fact, it spans over more acres than the Grande Champagne.</p><p><em>Dobbe Cognac Petite Champagne</em> is made from <em>Ugni Blanc</em> grapes coming solely from the Petite Champagne cru and is aged for at<em> least 10 years</em> in traditional<em> Limousin oak casks</em>. Irregardless of the fact that it comes from the less appreciated Cognac cru this Eau de Vie bears all the <em>right attributes</em> that make a <em>Cognac worthy of its cigar</em>. </p>
