Indeed, these were places where oak trees abounded.– Les Combottes : In Ladoix-Serrigny, this large plot is located in the continuation of the Combe des Buis valley which explains its hilly landscape. Its name is a diminutive of Combe (comb or valley)</p><p>The vineyard plot(s)Ancient mass selection of Pinot Blanc (one quarter of the surface) and Chardonnay (three quarters), grafted onto 161-49 rootstocks. Fairly old vines exceeding 40 years old.</p><p>The soil and the subsoilComplex formation of slopes of clayey calcareous soils resulting from the modification of the substrate with various screes and colluvial silts on “chailles” (small hard stones). These stones come from the alluvial fan of Buisson and guarantee these relatively fertile soils good drainage and therefore early ripening of the grapes. </p>
