<p>ORGANIC / VEGAN / NATURAL</p><p>A new release pink Pét-Nat from the Durrmann family. Grapes of Pinots Noir and Gris are slowly pressed over 10 hours to pick up plenty of colour and tannin from the skins, before they’re allowed to ferment together spontaneously with ambient yeasts. The wine then ages in large, old casks for a short time, in order to integrate and soften the body whilst preserving the wine’s vibrant fruit and delicate expression. A lovely cherry red in colour, with flavours of fresh ripe strawberry and cherry; soft, fine tannins; and a blast of funky volatile acidity to keep it lively. </p><p>Located in the charming village of Andlau in Alsace, the Durrmann family has been producing organic wines from their ancestral home since 1979, with son Yann taking over the reigns last year. They firmly believe in the quality of their grapes and terroir, and aim to preserve this quality with minimal intervention in the winery, employing natural production techniques such as the use of native yeasts and low-to-no addition of sulphur. Part of the production is vinified in stainless steel while the rest is aged on old wooden casks.
