<p>A delicious sipping Rum that’s perfectly crafted and aged for a sophisticated, layered palate. </p><p>The <em>Seale Family </em>has been living and working on Barbados for nearly <em>370 years</em>. They started making Rum there in <em>1820</em>, selling wholesale to distributors. Eventually they opened up<em> their own distribution company</em>, allowing them to market <em>premium Barbados Rums</em> under the R. L. Seale brand in the early 1900s. Since then they have developed a <em>range of private brands</em> including Doorly’s, E.S.A. Field, Rum 66, and Old Brigand — all distilled at their <em>historic Foursquare Distillery</em> located on a <em>former sugarcane plantation</em> in the southeast of the island.</p><p>Like all of the Rums produced at Foursquare, Doorly’s Rums are <em>molasses-based </em>and <em>aged on site</em> in the tropical Caribbean. <em>Doorly’s 14 Year Old Barbados Rum</em> is aged in <em>ex-Bourbon casks</em> that come from an un-named distiller that is — ahem — located in Lynchburg, Tennessee. But a portion is aged in <em>ex-Madeira casks</em> too. The Spirit itself comes partly from their <em>copper pot still</em> AND partly from the <em>vacuum column still</em>. Pristine aging, two cask types, and two distillation methods yield a <em>very rich</em> and <em>layered</em> sipping experience.</p>
