<p>Bass & Flinders Eau de Vie, French for ‘Water of Life’ is a crisp, pure, light spirit, a delightful expression of the grapes from which it was created, bursting with fruit flavours and viscous characteristics. The essence of fruit captured in a spirit then bottled.</p><p>Traditionally, Eau De Vie has been enjoyed as a digestif as it has layered texture and character and tells a story of the vineyard the grapes are sourced from. But dare to switch out vodka for our Eau De Vie in your favourite vodka-based cocktail and you will be sure to be pleasantly surprised. Switch the often flavourless, odorless spirit for our textured, characterful Eau De Vie and you will add a whole new dimension to your cocktail of choice. </p><p>Eau de Vie or ‘water of life’ encapsulates the heart and soul of all we do here at Bass & Flinders Distillery. It is this spirit from which all other products from our range are created and yet Eau de Vie is also a beautifully refined spirit in its own right. A hidden extra ‘botanical’ element in all of our premium gins, the base of our brandies and liqueurs – the spirit itself. A clear, elegant, colourless spirit with subtle fruit characteristics and a soft smooth mouthfeel.</p><p>This spirit is double distilled from premium quality Victorian Shiraz sourced from a single vineyard using traditional processes that have been used in the Charente region of France for centuries. A double distillation of small batches of wine takes place under strictly controlled heating conditions. Once the ‘heart’ of the spirit is captured, it is adjusted to 40% alcohol before being bottled immediately to preserve the freshness and aroma of the grapes.</p><p>The finesse of the clear, light spirit is contrasted by the fragrant bouquet of fresh fruit, a combination rarely found together in the one glass. Incredibly crisp, pure aromas with lifted fruit flavours creates a richer, more full-bodied spirit – ideal to sip neat or the perfect alternative for any white-spirit cocktails.</p><p>This spirit was handcrafted from scratch using our grape-to-glass distillation method – the art of distilling wine into spirit.
