One of only 960 bottles produced.Critics’ Tasting Notes:”Juicy and punchy nose with highly promising sherry notes; blueberry, bramble, nutmeg, and fine pepper, with date, currant, stewed Bramley apples, and fruity Madagascan dark chocolate. The palate doesn’t quite reach the heights of the nose, but sweet fruit sugar, barley, and orange peel keep the peppery spice in check, before settling down to a final plateau of strawberry jam with hints of tobacco and plum.”89/100 points, WHISKY ADVOCATE, 2020″COLOUR: Chestnut NOSE:Nice buttery warm sherry, raisins, sultanas, a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg, orange zest, rich toffee, raspberry, cassisPALATE:Reminds me quite a bit of a young Glenallachie or Glendronach. Lots of sherry fruits, caramel, raisins, buttered rum batter, honey, cassis, raspberry, johannesbeeren, peach. Water brings forward the caramel and cassis and doesn’t hurt or help.FINISH: relatively short with caramel, cassis, cinnamon, toffee, black teaSUMMARY: This is really a tasty young sherry cask matured whisky. The cut was taken carefully, there is no heat on the dram despite the young age and 50% ABV. But at a bit over $200, there are just alot of better offerings coming out of Scotland for the money. Compared to a Yamazaki Sherry Cask though, this is a really good value. So I don’t know what to leave you with.
