The brand was created by <em>Frank Silverman</em> in Lawrenceburg until the business went under in the 1970s. In 1993, <em>Luxco </em>reanimated the beloved Whiskey-maker and moved it to <em>Lux Row Distillers </em>in Bardstown. The amber Spirit is born in a 43-foot custom copper still and it ends up in new charred oak barrels at 125 Proof max. Although its older brothers boast about tradition, Ezra Brooks had a couple of cameos in <em>Hollywood</em>: there’s a billboard in The Sting with Newman and Redford, while <em>Gary Oldman</em> grabs a bottle of Ezra Brooks in Léon.<em> It’s a true American star with real roots.</em></p><p>Talking about excellent classics, this<em> Ezra Brooks Straight Rye</em> joined the beloved American Bourbon family in early 2017. The bottle alone gives off old fashioned, traditional Whiskey vibes with its matte, green label. A <em>100% genuine Whiskey</em> with a mash bill of 51% rye, 45% corn and 4% malt, it’s bottled at an honest 90 proof. A real straight shooter, you might say. Bringing you hints of chocolate, leather, vanilla and spicy grains, what you see is what you get with this award-winning, classic rye. And that’s a good thing. Aged in <em>new, charred American oak,</em> it’s a predictable, dependable and pleasant rye with slightly sweet and oaky notes.
