<p>A warm and earthy Vodka made from sustainably-harvested Bolivian quinoa.</p><p>As the name might suggest, <em>FAIR Ethical Wine & Spirits</em> is focused on their concept of the fair-trade acquisition of Spirits and ingredients from around the world that they source <em>ethically </em>and <em>sustainably</em>. All of those ingredients are sent to the famous production house <em>Maison Rene’ Laclie Spirits</em> in the Cognac region of France where <em>seven core Spirits</em> are produced and shipped world-wide, including Gin, Vodka, Rum, and a series of interesting specialty Spirits made from exotic ingredients.</p><p><em>FAIR Vodka</em> is made from a base of <em>Bolivian quinoa seeds</em>. Using quinoa is rather <em>rare</em>, but a few producers are using it in distilled Spirits these days. One of the main things you will notice is that the quinoa <em>brings a nutty, earthiness to the Spirit </em>which brings a unique spin on the whole thing. Plus it makes the Spirit gluten-free. And since production is handled by generations of experience at Maison Laclie, the <em>quality is exceptional </em>and they have a <em>half dozen awards</em> to prove it — including two Double Gold medals.</p><p><u>Smartass Corner:</u><em>Quinoa is a native South American crop that’s really popular these days with people looking for gluten-free alternatives to wheat. It isn’t a grain — it’s a flowing plant. But the seeds act like a grain when processed and dried.</em></p>
