Fantini Vigneti del Vulture Pipoli Rosato Basilicata IGP 2023

VARIETY: AglianicoCOLOR: RoséPRODUCTION AREA: Acerenza, PZ

VINEYARDS: Our low-sprung vineyards are located on the volcanic slopes of Mount Vulture at altitudes of up to 800 meters. The long and slow growing season, due to the high altitude of the vineyards, means that Vulture is one of the last areas in Italy for harvesting. Therefore late-ripening grapes such as Greco, Fiano and Aglianico are ideally suited to the poor soils of this area.

VINIFICATION: The grapes are poured directly into the press where a low-pressure free-run must is obtained which follows fermentation at a temperature of 10°C. Aging in steel on its “noble lees”.

SENSORY CHARACTERISTICS: Pale pink with great brightness, the nose is characterized by a markedly fruity bouquet, where the predominant scents of wild strawberry and raspberry combine with the more subtle ones of cherry and pomegranate. In the mouth it is well balanced by a fresh acidity and a pleasant aroma.

PAIRING: Wine throughout the meal, it goes well with hot and cold seafood appetizers, raw fish (especially shellfish) and vegetable-based first courses.

WINEMAKER: Danilo GizziSERVING TEMPERATURE: 12-14°C

PRIZES:

Mondial du Rosé 2022: Gold MedalConcours Mondial de Bruxelles 2023: Gold MedalFrankfurt International Trophy 2023: Gold MedalThe Winehunter Award 2023: Red
