ORGANIC / VEGAN / RED WINE / SPANISH / GRENACHE

A juicy, anytime red wine, this Garnacha Joven is fleshy, vibrant and bursting with red fruits, sweet spice and that unmistakable Spanish warmth. It’s the kind of bottle you open “just for a glass” and then somehow it’s gone. Made from very old, low-yielding vines, the grapes are hand-selected and aged for four months in a mix of French and American oak barrels, bringing a soft roundness without overshadowing the fruit. A joy to drink, simple as that.

Origin: Navarra, Spain

Producer: Vina Zorzal

Vintage: 2023

Grape variety: Garnacha / Grenache

Food pairing: Cured meat, Cheese, Stews, BBQ, Red meat

Bottle size: 75cl

ABV: 13.5%

Flavour Profile

Expect bright red fruit: cherries, strawberries, a little raspberry jam, lifted by gentle spice and soft tannins. The short oak ageing brings subtle vanilla and warmth without heaviness. Medium-bodied, smooth, and easy-drinking, with a fresh finish that keeps things lively.

About the Winery (Viña Zorzal)

Viña Zorzal is a family-run winery known for championing native varieties and reviving old bush vines across Navarra. Their approach is rooted in minimal intervention, hand harvesting, and letting each parcel express itself naturally. They focus heavily on Garnacha, making styles that combine grape purity with an honest sense of place.

About Navarra

Navarra sits just northeast of Rioja and shares its winemaking heritage but with a more adventurous edge. Known for its old-vine Garnacha, diverse soils, and cool Atlantic breezes, the region produces reds that are full of flavour but still refreshing. It’s one of Spain’s most exciting areas for modern, vibrant winemaking, often overlooked, but increasingly celebrated for quality and drinkability.

How to pair it

This Garnacha shines with cured meats, manchego, tomato-based stews, grilled lamb, BBQ chicken, or anything smoky and savoury. Its juicy fruit also works surprisingly well with tapas-style snacks: patatas bravas, croquetas, roasted peppers, or charred vegetables.
