<p>:The Kolbenhof Gewürztraminer is characterised by sumptuous fruit. Deep golden yellow in colour with green reflexes, on the nose it is reminiscent of ripe apricot and peach intermingled with exotic fruits such as lychee, mango and passion fruit. The fruit characteristics follow through on the palate; full-bodied, luscious but dry, the opulence cut by vibrant, firm acidity finishing elegant, dry and aromatic.Grape variety:Gewuerztraminer – South Tyrol DOCOnly the term “Vigna” guarantees the origin of a single-vineyard wine in Italy.Production area:This Gewürztraminer is made from a selection of grapes grown in our Kolbenhof estate in the hamlet of Söll overlooking Tramin. The happy combination of the particular microclimate, the southeastern orientation of the vineyard and the age of the vines make our Kolbenhof estate one of South Tyrol’s great grand crus for Gewürztraminer. The vine itself is named after its origin, the wine village of Tramin. Soil: Clay with gravel and lime.Vinification:On delivery to the winery the grapes are lightly crushed and the juice is left in contact with the skins for a few hours to enhance the wine’s typical fruit flavour. The berries are then gently pressed, the juice is clarified using natural sedimentation and fermented at a controlled temperature. After fermentation the Kolbenhof Gewürztraminer is matured together with the fine lees for eight months, during which period the lees are stirred up once a week (battonage).Food pairing:This wine is delicious enjoyed in solitude, though it is perfect to accompany shellfish, oysters or foie gras, sophisticated fish dishes and asian inspired food.Serving temperature:10 – 12°C.Ageing potential:more than 5 years.Bottle to:750 ml – 75 cl – 0,75 lt.Allergens:wine can contain sulphites.Producer:J.Hofstätter WineryIn 1907, Josef Hofstätter founded a winery in Termeno which has developed today into the largest family estate winery in all of Alto Adige. Areas of cultivation of 50 hectares in the west and the east of the Bassa Atesina, in the south of Trentino and, as the first winegrower from Italy, even to the Saarland in Germany are tended under the direction of Martin Foradori and the J. Hofstätter brand.Soils, climate, elevation: all of these should be reflected by the wines of J. Hofstätter. They focus on local grapes: Pinot Blanc, Lagrein, Schiava, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Noir.Tenuta Josef HofstätterPiazza Municipio 7IT – 39040 Termeno (BZ)infoGewürztraminer Vigna Kolbenhof 2021 – 14,5% vol.
