<p>Wise beyond its age. </p><p>This is one of the few remaining independent and<em> family-owned </em>distilleries in <em>Scotland</em>. It was started in <em>1836 </em>by <em>Robert Hay</em>, and bought by <em>John Grant</em> a few decades later. Nowadays it’s run by the <em>6th </em>generation of the Grant family, making it truly independent, which is kind-of <em>refreshing </em>these days. Glenfarclas distillery owns <em>six stills</em>, which are the <em>largest </em>in all of Highland, and produce a typical <em>Speyside-style Whisky,</em> which is heavily <em>Sherry </em>influenced. They mature their malts in traditional <em>dunnage</em> warehouses, where they have stock back to <em>1952.</em></p><p>Wise beyond its years, this Whisky is <em>complex</em>, has depth and typifies a smooth <em>Sherry-matured malt</em>. Reminiscent of Christmas with stewed fruits and an enduring <em>smokiness </em>that gives an overall warming and thoroughly enjoyable dry Whisky. There is something unique here that is not often present in Sherry matured Whisky of this vintage. </p>
