<p>A new version of a Glenmorangie Single Malt classic worth the dram. </p><p>Located near Tain on the east coast of the northern Highlands, the <em>Glenmorangie Distillery</em> was founded in<em> 1843 </em>when the Matheson brothers converted the <em>Morangie farm</em> into a distillery by the sea. At a full twenty-six feet in height, the stills are the tallest in Scotland — ensuring that only the lightest vapors make it to the top and resulting in a smooth, fresh, and elegant range of fine Single Malt Whiskies. Now owned by <em>LVMH</em>, Glenmorangie is THE best selling Single Malt Whisky in Scotland and the rest of the UK, and one of our <em>personal favorites</em>.</p><p>We can’t help it… we have a real soft spot in our heart for Glenmorangie. And their Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 12 has been one of our favorites for years. But now they have <em>Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 14</em>, and we’re telling you that we’re flat-out excited. Like all of their wood finished Spirits, it starts as classic Glenmorangie Single Malt aged for a full decade in <em>ex-Bourbon casks</em>. Then it is transferred to first-fill <em>Ruby Port casks </em>for four more years. And here’s where we’re torn… We want to give this dram our <em>highest recommendation</em>, but the less you buy the more there is for us (yes, it’s THAT good).</p><p><u>Smartass corner:</u><em>A lot of distilleries “talk” a good game about special water.
