<p>Grounded Cru Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre, McLaren Vale, South Australia, 2022Grapes:70% Grenache, 24% Shiraz, 6% Mourvedre. Aged 10 months in seasoned French oak barrels (20% second fill). Hand-picked fruit sourced mainly from old vine vineyards. Machine picking for younger Shiraz.Producer Tasting Note:This 2022 McLaren Vale GSM is a beautiful example of this classic Southern Rhone style blend. A tremendous array of aromas and flavours are on offer– raspberry, plum, blackberry and spicy notes abound, all wrapped up in a beautifully textured palate.It combines the sweet raspberry fruit of the Grenache, rich dark fruits of the Shiraz and the savoury spice of Mourvedre in perfect harmony. The finish is long, generous and satisfying. Not too heavy, not too light, this GSM is in perfect balance. There’s more palate weight and complexity than the straight Grenache bottling. Both are excellent, but different.Rated a “5-Star” winery by James Halliday’s 2023 Wine Companion.
