<p>A textbook Cabernet Sauvignon – all lead pencil, wood spice, cigar box, cassis, plums and violets on the bouquet. Cedary, sandalwood flavours mingle in an opulent, plush palate. Palate feel is complex and multi-layered ending with fine grainy tannins. Made to keep.</p><p>Nestled in a valley on the free-draining, north-eastern slopes of the Bottelary Hills in Stellenbosch, Hartenberg enjoys a Mediterranean climate of warm, dry summers and cold, wet winters. </p><p>Vineyards face north, west, and east, with varietals planted to take advantage of either morning or afternoon sun. There is a difference in altitude of some 250 metres between the northern and southern vineyards.</p><p>Excellent with grilled ribeye steak. A classic match for richer savoury dishes, springbok fillet or black mushroom stroganoff.</p>
