<p>As traditional as it gets these days. Best Gin 2014, SFWSC. </p><p>Hayman’s distillery was <em>established in 1863</em> by James Burrough, after he had bought it from John Taylor and Sons. A century later <em>Christopher Hayman</em>, the Gin Master of the company for the past 40 years, joined the company.</p><p><em>Hayman’s London Dry Gin</em> is made from a recipe of <em>10 botanicals</em>, including angelica roots from France, Cinnamon from Madagascar, Coriander from Bulgaria and Orris root from Italy, all of which are <em>steeped for a full day</em> prior to distillation to allow the flavours to release.</p><p>The Hayman’s use a <em>traditional pot still</em> to create this as traditional Gin as they come these days. Christopher believes a pot still should be used instead of column still, to allow the flavours of the botanicals to develop their full potential. We concur! Hayman’s London Dry Gin was awarded <em>Best Gin</em> and won <em>Double Gold</em> at the <em>San Francisco World Spirits Competition</em> 2014. </p>
