A wonderful, classic American Rye with a fruit-forward and aromatic profile you’ll sing about.

In 2018 Bob Dylan registered the trademark for “Bootleg Whiskey”, setting in motion a series of events that would lead him to collaborate with Master Blender Ryan Perry and Marc Bushala. The first is an experienced Spirit-crafter who cut his teeth on new & used cask programs for various Spirits under some of the largest producers, the second the entrepreneur behind Angel’s Envy Bourbon. In early 2018 they cut a deal to craft a line of Bourbons in collaboration with the famous poet, troubadour, folk-rock music hero, and Nobel Prize winner. This is how the “Heaven’s Door” line of premium Spirits came to be. And unlike many-many other so-called “celebrity brands” that are all marketing hype, it has won over 40 medals along with a bunch of other accolades — presented in stunning artistic bottles.

Heaven’s Door Straight Rye Whiskey is a classic American Rye made in Tennessee just as you might expect it to be. But the kicker is that this delectable dram is finished in air-dried French “cigar” casks from Vosges, France — “cigar” casks are longer with a narrower diameter which increases wood contact. The result is an exceptionally smooth Rye that has the spice, but with more aromatic elements and an emphasis on exotic fruit notes. Bottled at a perfect 46% ABV, this gem already has a string of recent Gold medals to show.

Smartass corner:Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” was used in the soundtrack of the film “Pat Garret and Billy the Kid” and released as a single in 1973. It was a world-wide top-ten hit and has been covered by dozens of bands since then.
