<p>A smokier, spicier version of Highland Park Single Malt inspired by a legendary dragon..</p><p>Highland Park is the most northerly distillery in Scotland on the <em>Island of Orkney. </em>Legend has it that it was founded by Whisky smuggler <em>Magnus Eunson </em>in the late 1700s and that he used his position as a church officer to conceal Whisky beneath the church pulpit. Don’t assume that “Highland Park” means their Whisky is made in the Highland style. In character, their Spirit is closer to a midpoint between <em>Lowland </em>and<em> Islay Single Malts.</em> Perhaps the most famous Whisky connoisseur of all time — journalist <em>Michael Jackson</em> — called Highland Park, “The greatest all-rounder in the world of Malt Whisky.”</p><p><em>Sigurd (or Siegfried)</em> was a legendary Nose warrior that killed a serpent-dragon. Highland Park named their<em> Dragon Legend Single Malt Whisky</em> after that legend.</p><p>And the Dragon symbolism works here because this version of their Single Malt is smokier and hotter than most of their lineup. The barley malt has been dried with a thick amount of their famous “treeless” peat from the <em>Hobbister Moor </em>with delivers an intense <em>spice </em>and <em>smoke profile. </em>The maturation is <em>Sherry-seasoned American </em>and<em> European oak casks</em> balances out the flame and smoke with a bit fo fruity sweetness. And since it’s bottled at <em>43.1%</em> ABV, you will taste every nuance.</p>
