It has flavours of tart raspberry and rhubarb, a slight green herbaceous note of strawberry leaf, and a touch of graphite-y minerality. On the palate, there’s a fine effervescence and light tannic grip that render it well for pairing with nibbles and cheese. A perfect wine for all times of the year, with the freshness and vivacity for a baking summer’s day or the complexity and depth for a cosy winter’s evening. </p><p>Chateau Picoron is owned by an Australian family who has converted the vineyard and wine-making practices to organic.
