<p>From the Palazzina vineyard at Il Cascinone in Piemonte, this Vendemmia Tardiva Moscato d’Asti is made by letting grapes hang later than usual, then drying them on traditional rush mats (“graticci”) so they lose around 40% of their water, concentrating sugars and flavours. Harvested by hand, the wines are pressed in mid-December and aged slowly (including in oak) to deepen the complexity. Expect a nose of lemon curd, marmalade and orange peel with fragrant honeysuckle; on the palate ripe apricot and acacia honey shine, balanced by a fresh citrus lift and a long, lingering finish dominated by candied fruit and sweet floral tones.
